Howard G. Warr, age 76, most recently of Klemme, IA, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient-Mason City, IA, with his family at his side following a Intracranial Hemorrhage. Full military honors will be provided by the Klemme Honor Guard.

Howard Griffiths Warr, was born July 17, 1941, in Tooele, UT. Howard graduated from high school in the Des Moines metro area and joined the United States Armed Forces, serving in the Army for three years. During his service to this country Howard spent time in Paris. His military duties included Carpentry and he was a sharpshooter during his tenure. Upon returning to the United States and civilian life, Howard commenced a life long career as a laborer. He had worked in numerous factories and in various locations over his life time. He had lived in Utah, Iowa, Virginia, and for approximately the last 5 years has been living in Klemme. He was currently employed in security at CF Industries between Garner and Ventura, IA, where he was working at the time of his sudden health issue.

In earlier years Howard enjoyed bowling with his wife and others in various leagues. He was an avid reader and especially fond of Louis Lamoure and other old western books. Howard liked outlaw and classic country music such as Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and the likes. He very much looked forward to spending times with his daughters, grandchildren, siblings and other family. He loved to make trips to visit them in Utah and Virginia. Howard loved to build things with his hands and truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as dining out with friends, especially to the Weathered Goose in Klemme, yard sailing, and going on camping excursions, a favorite destination was Yogi Bear Campground to gather with his family. Howard also liked to take an occasional trip to a local casino and enjoyed treks to Diamond Jo's in Northwood since moving to Klemme.

He will be remembered by all who crossed in his life journey as a relatively quiet and easy going gentleman with a hidden bit of stubbornness in his personality. He was fairly soft spoken in nature and of course if you knew him the main thing that was the pulse of his life was his family.

His memory will be carried forward by his daughter: Robin Warr and her children, Brandon Hudson (18), Jasmine Hudson (13), and Noah Hudson (8) all of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter Tarissa Warr and her children Tyan Warr (15) and Takobi Warr (12) all of Mason City, IA; a sister LeNae Sexton, Klemme, IA; brother William (Bill) Warr of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister Jane Varian. Andrews Funeral Home, Klemme, Iowa.
