October 3, 1918 - March 31, 1996

Services for Nora Urich, 77, Garner, who died Sunday, March 31, 1996, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City, will be held Wednesday, April 3, 10 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Robert T. Ellis and Rev. John W. Hemann as co-officiants. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in, Garner.
Mrs. Richard Johnson will be organist. Ushers will be Marvin Schoneman and Maynard Schoneman. Casket bearers will be Pete Fistler, Marvin Thomas, J.J. Urich, Jeff Fistler, Aaron Fistler, Scott Fistler and Steve Fistler. Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Nora Gwendolyn Urich, the daughter of Etna and Goldie (Goodwin) Chapman, was born October 3, 1918, at Clear Lake.
In October of 1937, she married Marvin Fistler in Clear Lake. They lived in Northwood where her husband, Marvin, died, October 29, 1960. She continued to live in Northwood
until 1971, when she moved to Clear Lake.
September 17, 1973, she married Elmer J. Urich at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They made their home in Garner. Nora had worked as a cook at the Northwood Kensett Community Schools and later was employed by Carroll-George Inc. in Northwood. She enjoyed her family, friends, bowling, golfing, knitting and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer J. Urich of Garner; three sons, Phillip Fistler and his wife, Ella of Rockwell City, Bruce Fistler of Mt. Ayre and Mark Fistler of Mason City; three stepchildren, Dr. Vernon Urich and his wife, Joan of Sun City West, AZ, Gary Urich and his wife, Sharon, of Osceola and Mary Jeann Batham of Des Plaines, IL; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Perry of Ventura, Cleo Prouty of Antioch, CA, and JoAnn Johnson of Concord, CA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Fistler; a grandson, Joey Urich; her parents; and a brother, Clare V. Chapman.
