Gayle Idella Boutelle, 92, of Kensett and Northwood, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Manly Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. According to her wishes, there will be no service, and her body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals Anatomy department to help in the study for the cure of diseases. Should friends desire, memorial contributions should be sent to Randy Bratrud, P.O. Box 37, Kensett, Iowa 50448, in her memory. Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. South, Northwood, is in charge of the arrangements.
Gayle Idella Boutelle was born on Aug. 7, 1919, in Thompson, the daughter of Emery and Flora (Bailey) Ashpole. Gayle received her education in the Thompson Community School, graduating from Thompson High School. Gayle was united in marriage to Donald Boutelle on Feb. 6, 1940. Donald preceded her in death. Survivors include a son Ron Boutelle of Corvallis, Ore.; two grandchildren, Tina and Steve Boutelle; a special nephew and niece, Allan (Dorothy) Bratrud of Kensett; a special niece, Dorothy Torkelson of Buffalo Center; as well as other special nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and other extended family members and friends. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Flora Ashpole; her husband Donald; and a son, Craig who died on March 1, 2011.
