When he was stricken with apoplexy while in his hog lot feeding the swine. Ole A. Tonga, aged 73, a prominent farmer living near Northwood, Ia., was killed by the hogs. The man’s body was fearfully mutilated. Tonga had informed his family that he expected to go to a neighbor’s after he had finished feeding, and was not missed for a time. At 10 o’clock the family became suspicious that something was wrong, and found Tonga’s dead body. He had probably been dead two hours.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Anders Olson Tonga who was born April 3, 1845 and died Dec. 2, 1915. He is buried in the Bristol Cemetery.
