Death of an Old-Timer.
Pioneers will have a very kindly remembrance of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Graves, who were residents of Freeport prior to 1860, and later on, at intervals, with their daughter, Mrs. Theodore W. Burdick. To such the following item from the North wood Index of the 28th inst. will be news:—
Grandma Graves (widow of the late Hon. Gaylord Graves) died Tuesday night at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Wm Hunter, where she had been making her home for many yours. Mrs. Graves was upwards of 90 years of age. Although she had been ailing for many years she had retained her faculties to a remarkable degree. Her end was peaceful, as she passed from natural sleep to the sleep of death. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p. in., today, at the home of Mr. Collin. It is a sad feature of the cats that Mrs. Wm. Hunter, who has cared for Mother Graves so faithfully and so long, is helpless on account of sickness and Mr. Hunter's condition is still more serious.
Mrs. Graves was mother of the late Ralph C. Pike, and was a woman of more than usual mental endowments.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Mary Ann who is buried in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood and that she was born in 1810 and died March 26, 1901.
