KENSETT, IOWA – Marilyn Faye (nee Urbatch) Cooper, 71, of Kensett died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett with Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Kensett Cemetery.

Marilyn Faye Cooper, age 71, (1946-2018) was diagnosed with cancer and after a brief stay at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, died February 15, 2018. Marilyn, a current resident of Clear Lake and a lifelong resident of North Iowa, was born in Mason City on October 21, 1946. The daughter of Eldred and Lucille (Schultz) Urbatch and a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett where she was baptized and confirmed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended the Kensett School System, graduating with the class of 1964 at Northwood-Kensett High School, Northwood, Iowa.

Marilyn was raised in Kensett spending the majority of her adult life there. She worked in the N-K School System, however, spent most of her life as a care giver, providing aid to elders in the area.

She mostly enjoyed time spent with her children and family. She was married to Rogar (Butch) Cooper at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA the marriage ended; however, this union produced two daughters Brenda Buck and Annette Wilson of Clear Lake who became Marilyn's greatest gift to herself. Marilyn had two grandchildren Benjamin, his wife Jessica and Brody Buck of Clear Lake and three Great grandchildren Caelyn, Addison and Liam Buck.

Those left to cherish Marilyn's memory and survived by her include; her daughter Annette and husband Scot, special friend Ray Curtis, her grandchildren, granddog, Tobe, great grandchildren, four sisters and brother-in-law's Marjorie (Bruce) Odden of Northwood, Shirley (Henry) Ludens of Hampton, Sharon (Leland) Dilling Albert Lea, MN, Barbara (Dennis) Walser of Northwood, two brothers and sister-in-law's Richard and Evelyn (Oleson) Urbatch of Omaha, NE, Roger and Wendy (Watts) Urbatch of Brunswick, GA. A large extended family of niece's, nephews, aunts, cousins and many wonderful friends.

Those preceding Marilyn include her daughter Brenda Faye (Cooper) Buck, grandparents Ervin and Anna (Kruger) Schultz, Henry and Cynthia (Youmans) Urbatch, parents Eldred and Lucille Urbatch, brother-in-law Henry Howard Ludens, nephew Wayne Dilling and her granddog, Ella Blu.
