Northwood – Kevin David Abrahams, 55, Northwood, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral service for Kevin will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at First Shell Rock Lutheran Church, 1406 Central Ave., Northwood, with the Rev. David Emmons officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. S., Northwood. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Those wishing to give a memorial in his memory may wish to consider contributions to Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, First Shell Rock Lutheran Church in Northwood, or to Hospice of North Iowa.

Kevin David Abrahams was born on June 9, 1962, in Mason City, the son of David and Phyllis (Folkerts) Abrahams.

He received his education in the Northwood-Kensett Community Schools, graduating in 1981.

Kevin worked at Fallgatter's Grocery Store in Northwood for six years, and in 1985, he began working for Fieldstone Cabinetry in Northwood until 1993 when he began working for Fleetguardummins Manufacturing in Lake Mills until the plant closed.

Kevin also worked for Northwood Sanitation until becoming ill.

Kevin loved and enjoyed hunting with bow and shotgun, target shooting, cars, ice fishing, motorcycles, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, going on walks with his mother, Phyllis, and everything outdoors.

He was a member of First Shell Rock Lutheran Church in Northwood.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, David and Phyllis Abrahams of Northwood; his aunts and uncles, Mary Montgomery of Mason City, Iowa, Duane (Karen) Abrahams of Northwood, Vernon (Glenis) Abrahams of Donavon, Missouri, Betty (Carl) Tesch of Lincoln, Nebraska, Gloria Floy of Phoenix, Arizona, Janice (Roger) Sheffler of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and LeAnn Berven of Temple, Texas; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Harvey and Leona Folkerts, and Ben and Edith Abrahams.
