December 25, 1920 - October 16, 2017

PLYMOUTH, IOWA - Lilian Lorene Navratil, 96 of Plymouth, died Monday, October 16, 2017, at Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. Burial will immediately follow in Bohemian Cemetery in Plymouth.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa.

Lilian was born December 25, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Koci) Bednar in rural Manly. She married Benjamin Navratil on August 7, 1937, in Olivia, MN. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2013.

Lilian grew up and attended school in Manly prior to meeting Ben and getting married. She spent her life caring for and raising her children, while also helping Ben on the farm.

Lilian was known for her homemade pickles, baking kolaches and angel food cakes. She and Ben spent over 33 years playing the fiddle and guitar for care facilities and Bluegrass Festivals. She had a love of helping people and family members. She also enjoyed many years fishing in northern Minnesota, gardening, and planting flowers.

Lilian is survived by three children, LeRoy (Carol) Navratil of Mason City, Mary (Don) Baker of Mason City, and Jeanne Arp of Plymouth; nine grandchildren, Jeanette (Don) Ewing, Randy (Dawn) Navratil and David (Amy) Navratil all of Plymouth, Sandi (Todd) Lincoln of Prior Lake, MN, Rosalee Paul of Clear Lake, Jacque Mormann of Cedar Falls, Mark Baker of Thornton, Angie (Tony) Furbush of Rockwell, and John (Michelle) Arp of Mason City; 30 great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ben; grandson, Scott Baker; and two siblings, Lucile Snopek and Les Bednar.
