Juanita Faye Kruger

August 21, 1925 - September 29, 2017

MANLY, IOWA - Juanita Faye Kruger, 92 of Manly, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Hospice of North Iowa Muse-Norris Inpatient Unit in Mason City surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 428 W Walnut St, Manly, Iowa with Reverend Linda Johnson-Prestholdt officiating. Burial will be in Grafton Cemetery, next to her husband.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring St., Manly, Iowa.

Juanita Faye Nagel was born on August 21, 1925 in Mason City to John and Ruth (McCalley) Nagel. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1943. Juanita continued her education at the Mason City Junior College to be a teacher. Following her graduation she moved on to the Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and obtained her teaching degree in 1945. Juanita taught 5th grade in Archer, Ia; then in Graettinger, and finally in Northwood.

She married Walter A. Kruger on August 2, 1952 at the First Christian Church in Mason City. To this loving marriage, three sons were born: Dennis, Keith and Eugene. Eugene passed away in infancy. Walter and Juanita made their home on the Century Kruger Farm in Rural Manly. They lived on the farm for almost 50 years which has now been passed on to their grandson. They then moved to Northwood, where Juanita was able to better care for Walter during his battle with ALS. Walter passed away on November 2, 2002.

Juanita was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly, Iowa. She taught Sunday school and was in the Mary Circle. Juanita and Walt were members of a card club for 35 years. They loved to travel, whether by bus or plane. Juanita loved people, taking time to visit and talk, always making time to enjoy company. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Juanita is survived by two sons Dennis (Kathy Tesene) Kruger of rural Manly, and Keith (Julie Colby) Kruger of rural Kensett; six cherished grandchildren, Erin (fiancé Paul Feddersen) Stewart; Jennifer (Ryan) Weisgram, Justin (Katie) Kruger, Eric (Alissa) Kruger, Matthew (Katie) Kruger, Gregory (Jorie) Kruger; cherished great-grandchildren, Quinn and Jillian Stewart, Bennett and Calliegh Weisgram, Khloe, Kendal, and Jaxton Kruger, Payten and Tate Kruger, Bryce and Blake Kruger, and Brecklin Kruger; brother, Robert Wilde; brothers-in-law, Allen (Sandy) Kruger and Phillip Erdmann; sisters-in-law, Deanna (Gary) Sande, Maxine Kruger, Rosie Kruger and Jacqueline Kruger; Aunt to many nieces and nephews and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter; a son in infancy, Eugene Kruger; sisters, Gertrude Larsen and Iva Belle Hollatz; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law.
