Nora Springs, Iowa - Steven Ray Miller, 64, of Nora Springs died Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, with Reverend Paul Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral chapel.

Obituary for Steven Ray Miller
Steven R. Miller, 64, of Nora Springs died Sunday (August 20, 2017) at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday August 25, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, with Reverend Paul Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery.

Steven Ray Miller was born on September 17, 1952, the son of Ray and Lucile (Walk) Miller in Mason City. He attended Grafton Schools, and was confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. When his father died, Steve stayed on the family farm to help his mother.

He went to the Job Corps in South Dakota before moving to New York to attend Elim Bible College. In his younger years, Steve traveled to England and visited the castles there.

He enjoyed reading, and hanging out with his friends and cousins. Steve knew Bible history and loved to read and learn about world history. He liked watching westerns and army movies.

Those left to cherish his memory is his sister, Linda (Richard) Sash, Albert Lea, his nieces and nephews, Jessie (Brandon) Parcel, Osage, Michael Hinrichsen, Osage, and Debbie (Blood) (Bryan) Clancy, Albert Lea; great nieces, Morrighan and Trinity Wadding; as well as many cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lucile (Walk) Miller, his sister Linnette Hinrichsen, his grandparents, and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
