W. D. Lamb

Perhaps no other Northwood citizen is so well known throughout Worth county and Iowa as W. D. Lamb. He was born in Jefferson county. N. Y. July 12, 1846. In 1847 the family migrated to Dodge county, Wis., and two years later to Bureau county. Ill. In 1863 he enlisted in Co. E., 7th Illinois Cavalry and served till the close of the war. In l867 he removed to Marble Rock. Iowa, and in 1884 came to Northwood. where he has ever since resided. From 1884 to l889 he was traveling salesman for the Rhodes-Carmean Carriage Co., of Marshalltown. For the past 19 years he has been field man for the firm of Eckert & Williams in the sale of machinery and purchase of stock and grain.

He was married at Marble Rock July 4, 1869 to Miss Ella S. Wallace. They have one son, Atty. W. E. Lamb, of Cedar Rapids.
