Hon. H. L. Olson

Hon. H. L. Olson was born in Norway on the 27th day of January 1845. In 1853 the family emigrated to America, locating in Rock county, Wis. On July 7, l856, they came to Worth county and settled on a farm in Brookfield township, where the subject of this sketch grew to manhood. In 1872 he was chosen a member of the Worth County Board of Supervisors, serving in this capacity for time years. From 1882 to 1885 he was temporarily absent in Dakota, still retaining his home and farming interests here. In 1900 he moved to Northwood. which is now his home.

In l902 Mr. Olson was selected by the voters of the 91st legislative district, comprising Worth and Winnebago counties to represent them in the generral assembly, his term being lengthened by statutory enactment on that his service extend over two sessions of the assembly. For the past four years Mr. Olson has been president of the Worth County Mutual Fire Insurance Association, a position which he still holds.

He was married in Northwood on the 7th day of April 1868 to Miss Marauda Michelson. Three daughters have been born to them; Gertrude, Wife of O. Amundson, of Northwood; Olin, wife of A. B. Ranum of Northwood and Miss Emily who is one of Worth county's favorite teachers.
