Gus F. Johnson, one of Northwood's rustling real estate dealers, was born in Dexter. Iowa, on the 26th of October 1873. In the spring of 1898 he moved to Hancock, Minn., and engaged in farming which business he followed for two years. In 1900 he was engaged by the J. R. Holton Land Co. to act as its traveling salesman for which firm he worked for four years. In 1902 he made his headquarters in Northwood and determined to make it his future home. In December, 1906, he entered the real estate business on his own account, in which enterprise he is meeting with good success.
Mr. Johnson began life with little of the financial assistance which so often comes to young men when they start in business. In spite of this fact by perseverance and energy he has established a good business, and he is fast making good in his chosen line of work.
Mr. Johnson was married at Glenwood, Minn., on March 28, 1901, to Miss Susie M. Scott. They have three children Fred M., Gladys M., and Russel H.
