E. L. Overjorde

OVERJORDE

E. L. Overjorde was born in Hal Hallingdal, Norway, on the 20th day of August 1850. In 1881, when but 18 years of age. he came to America and lo­cated at St. Pet­er. Minn., where he remained .for two years. He then removed to North Dakota, where he lived until 1889. In the latter year he returned to his boyhood home in Nor­way where he stayed until 1891. Again coming to Amer­ica he settled in Grand Forks, N. D.. where, he remained for a period of nearly five years, being employed in a large jewelry store.

In 1896 he determined to engage in the jewelry trade on his own account. He purchased a store in Hector, Minn., which he conducted for 2 1/2 years. In February 1899 an opportunity came to purchase a stock in Northwood. Since that time he has been located in the splen­did store room occupied jointly with the Emery drug store. Since coming to Northwood Mr. Overjorde has enjoyed a thriving trade and he has given his business his close attention.

He was married in Northwood. Iowa, to Miss Mary Titus, the ceremony being performed on the 20th day of June. 1901. Mr. and Mrs. Overjorde are the parents of two sons. Leslie L., aged 5 years and George E., aged 3.
