Emil Braesch, 83, former Lawton resident, died Monday at a hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Braesch went to the Lawton area from Omaha in 1912 and farmed for 40 years before coming to Sioux City three years ago. He resided at a nursing home. He was born in Kiel, Germany and came to the United States at the age of 6.

Survivors are several nieces.

The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.

Funeral services for Emil Braesch, 83, a former Lawton resident who died Monday in Sioux City after a long illness, will be at 1:30 p. m. Thursday at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside. Rev. R. H. Hofener of Bethel Lutheran church of Lawton will officiate. Burial will be in the Lawton cemetery.
