SIOUX CITY -- Joanne Pease, 80, formerly of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, in Edina, Minn. following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mayflower Congregational Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Joanne was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Clio, Iowa, to Clell and Neva Cravens. She was their only child. As a youth, she spent many hours riding horses and accompany her grandfather on veterinary calls, assisting whenever she could.

She was married to John B. "Jack" Pease on Feb. 7, 1947. They moved to Sioux City and established the Pease Insurance Agency, which served the community for more than 40 years.

She was a homemaker, who was extremely supportive of her children's activities, serving as a Scout leader, a P.T.A. volunteer and keeping score for hundreds of Little League baseball games. She loved to read, cross-stitch, play cards, word games and work puzzles.

She is survived by five sons and their wives, James Bruce and Pam of Edina, Minn., Jeffery Thomas and Shari, Keith Alan and Joelle and Robert Dale and Mary, all of Sioux City and Bryan Todd and Frances of Omaha; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity, Hospice of Siouxland, 4300 Hamilton Blvd., Sioux City, IA. 51104.
