Ella T. (Houlton) Zimmer, 83, of Sioux City died Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at Casa de Paz Nursing Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul-Louis Arts officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Zimmer was born July 20, 1914, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mae (Gleason) Trautt. She was raised in Akron and graduated from Akron High School.

She married Leo Houlton in 1936 in Akron. He died in 1982, in New York City. She married Edward T. Zimmer on October 1, 1988, in Sioux City. He died July 7, 1989, in Sioux City. She moved to Sioux City in 1950.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Houlton and his wife Judy of Omaha, Nebraska, Mike Houlton of Sioux City and John Houlton of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters and their husbands, Colleen and Terry Martin of Sioux City and Sharon and Daniel Jarman of Aberdeen, South Dakota, a brother, Lee Trautt of Tucson, Arizona; a sister, Evelyn Houlton of Yuma, Arizona; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry and two brothers, Faye and Ray.
