Mrs. Oliver H. Metcalf, 84, Des Moines, Iowa, a former Sioux City resident, died Wednesday at a hospital in Des Moines after a brief illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. M. Dwight Walker of the Moorhead (Iowa) Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery at Holly Springs, Iowa.

Mrs. Metcalf, the former Frieda Elizabeth Ronfeldt, was born October 5, 1896, near Persia, Iowa. She moved to the Holly Springs area as a child.

She was married to Mr. Metcalf October 14, 1914, near Holly Springs. They moved to South Dakota in 1918 and returned to Iowa in 1945. They moved to Sioux City in 1953. Mr. Metcalf died September 19, 1969, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Metcalf moved to Des Moines in 1976 to make her home with her daughter.

Survivors include two sons, Marold of Walnut Creek, California and Cecil of Coolidge, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. North (Macel) Overton of Mount Vernon, Oregon, Mrs. James (Gladys) Frederick of Des Moines and Mrs. Gerald (Opal) Worrell of Longmont, Colo., two brothers, Glen of Kelso, Washington and Carl of Dallas, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. Emily Crissman of Little Rock, Washington; 21 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
