Carl William Angerman, 80, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Carl was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Sioux City, the son of John and Mabel (Ferdig) Angerman. He grew up and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Grade School. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident. He was a self-employed construction contractor in the Sioux City area.

He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, being outdoors and playing cribbage. He also enjoyed cooking and baking and playing poker with the kids. He was the captain of his ship.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Irene (Watts) Angerman; two daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Rick Wikoff of Marora, Ill., and Kristi and Gregg Parks of Sioux City; nine sons and their wives, Carl and Belinda Angerman of Penrose, Colo., Gerry and Teresa Angerman and Mike and Tami Angerman, all of Sioux City, Patrick and Jerri Angerman of Castle Rock, Colo., Timothy and Debbie Angerman, Dennis Angerman, Kelly and Kathy Angerman, Rory Angerman and his significant other, Rachel and Robby and Laura Angerman, all of Sioux City; 36 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Newman and Mary June Gonzales; and a brother, Kenneth Angerman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
