I was 11 years old when my family went to the air show in Jackson and witnessed the accident. His aircraft was a bright red small biplane. He came in low, pulled up into a vertical, rotating as he climbed. At maybe 1000' it appeared the prop failed, ripped the enging off and cut the left wing off. The aircaft spun to the ground and exploded.. Very sad!
