Christian Rilling died Thursday, Marh 22, 1917, at 2:45 p. m., at his home in Calmar. He was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, April 27, 1848. At the age of 18 years he came to America, living three years in New York and Philadelphia. In 1868 he came to this country and lived for twenty years on a farm near Festina. Then he moved to near Fort Atkinson where he lived twenty-four years. A few years ago he moved to Calmar. During all these years he followed his trade of stone mason. In 1875 he was married to Miss Mary Jones, who survives him with six sons and two daughters,--John Christ, Fred, Alphonse, Nicholas and Joseph and Mrs. Sophia Zima and Anna. The funeral took place Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Aloysius church, Calmar.
