OBITUARY.—On Wednesday evening, March 31,{sic} one of the sweetest and most genial characters in this community passed away, in the person of Mrs. Jos. Wemet, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 18 days. Amelia Brown was born in LaCole, Ontario, Canada, and came to Burr Oak with her husband in 1865. She was preceded in death by three children,--George, May and Ray. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, two brothers, Will of Saskatoon, Can., and Henry of Rockford, Ill. Also five children—Joe of Dubuque, Fred of Mabel, Minn., Mrs. J. Ackerson, Mrs. Joie Cox and Mrs. Maud Emery, all of Burr Oak, and twenty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday from the M. E. church.
Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways. Find a Grave shows Wemett. It shows she was born Jan 6, 1843 and died Mar. 21, 1817; however, it shows her maiden name as LaValley instead of Brown. She is buried in the Burr Oak Cemetery
