THE SILENT REAPER.
On Thursday last, at his home in Lansing, Mich., Weld T. Burdick, youngest son of the late T. W. Burdick, died after a long illness from complication of diseases. Mr. Burdick has lived away from Decorah for so many years that few people, except intimate family friends, recall him. For many years he lived at Sault Ste. Marie but more recently has made his home at Lansing where he held various clerical positions and was engaged in newspaper work. Beside his wife and two children, he is survived by one brother and two sisters,--Nelson A. Burdick of Metolius, Wash., Mrs. Minnie A. Bailey, now in Grand Forks, N. D. and Mrs. Charles Younglove, of Newberry, Mich. Throughout his life, Mr. Burdick seemed to be called on to meet unusual misfortunes, but his courage seldom failed and sustained him where another would have failed.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Apr. 19, 1875 in Decorah and died Mar. 15, 1917. He is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing, MI.
