OBITUARY.

Ole Sveiser (Olson), an old and well known citizen of Decorah, died Monday evening at the home of a niece at Gunder, Clayton county, where he had been staying since July. That his death was sudden is indicated by the fact that none of his children who reside in Decorah was aware of his illness. He visited here about three weeks ago and was at that time in his usual health. The deceased was born in Hadland, Norway, seventy-three years ago on September 9th last, and came to this country with his wife forty-five years ago. During the greater part of the intervening years he has lived in Decorah and vicinity, though for several years previous to last spring he was employed by Dr. Rihard Cartwright in the latter’s hospital at Salem, Oregon. For many years he was employed as a buttermaker in the Beard creamery and was considered an expert in that line. His wife and five children survive. The children are Chris, Alm, Mrs. ira Rima and Mrs. George Bueneke of Decorah, Louis Olson of Calmer and T. H. Olson of Enderlin, N. D. His son Otto died five years ago.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Aug. 30, 1839 which does not agree with the above. He is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
