Mr. and Mrs. Simon Thompson who we reported as being seriously ill last week, have both passed away. Mrs. Thompson died on Monday, the 17th, and was laid to rest in the Methodist cemetery on Thursday, the 20th. Mr. Thompson seemed to be improving, but on Friday morning at 8 o’clock he died very suddenly, following his wife to a better place. His remains were laid to rest beside the body of his wife, where they will rest until Gabriel blows his trumpet. We are unable to give a complete obituary this week.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows Simon was born Feb. 8, 1831 and died Feb. 21, 908. His wife was Sarah who was born April 23, 1825 and died Feb. 17, 1908. They are both buried in Big Canoe Norwegian Cemetery.
