SILENT REAPER.
FRANK W. DUFFY.
The death of Frank W. Duffy, which occurred last Thursday afternoon at the St. Cloud hotel, did not come as a surprise to those who saw him soon after his arrival in Decorah, week before last. It was evident that he was in an advanced stage of tuberculosis and the trip to the south, on which he had started, could only be productive of a short prolongation of life.
Mr. Duffy passed his thirty-seventh birthday on Nov. 25th. While he continued to visit Decorah regularly and kept in touch with his old home, for the past eighteen years he has been a commercial traveler making his home most of the time at Sioux Falls. He was married to Miss Clara Soga in September 1895, and his widow, two children, his mother and brother survive.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Unity church. Rev. Margaret Olmstead preached the funeral sermon and the local lodge of Elks took charge of the service, interment being made in Phelps cemetery. Among those from out of town who were present at the funeral were D. W. Aberlie of St. Paul, Messrs. Carl Earl, Harry Dayton and Henry Meyercord of Waukon.
