OBITUARY.
LUCRETIA C. POLLOCK was born on Nantucket Island 3d month, 26th, 1814. While she was yet young her parents moved to Ohio and set{t}led near Cincinnati. On the 27th day, 3d month, 1833, she was united in marriage with Elihu Talbert. To them nine children were born, six of whom are still living.
After two months of illness she passed away 2d month, 26th, 1897, aged 82 years and 11 months. Her life was gentle and retiring—a loving mother, a consistent Christian, and a life-long member of the Friend's church.
Elihu Talbert and family came to northern Winnesheik some time in the fifties and settled on section 18 in Highland township. Mr. L. H. Talbert, who now owns the old homestead, and with whom the mother had made her home for many years, was the only one of the children who was enabled to attend the funeral.
