SUICIDE IN GLENWOOD.
Hans Larsen Disappeared last Wednesday and His Body Found Hanging from a Tree Sunday
Hans Larsen, living on Section 24 in Glenwood township left his home last week Wednesday afternoon, telling his wife that he was going to Woldum Brothers’ store at Nasset, and not to look for him to return that day. Not only did he fail to return on Wednesday but when Friday arrived and no intelligence of him could he learned a search was instituted. The search lasted all day Saturday with no results. Saturday night his son-in-law Janitor John Blaess of the Court House, went down to the farm and Sunday morning the search was resumed, about two hundred participating. The result was the finding of Mr. Larsen's body hanging to a tree in a thicket of timber about eighty rods from his home. The body was in a bad state of decomposition, indicating that it had hung there for several days. Coroner P M Jewell was notified and an inquest was held with a verdict in conformity with the facts as stated above.
No cause for the act can be assigned. While Mr. Larsen has been in ill health of late he has been much improved and nothing had occurred which could lead to his taking his life.
He was seventy-four years old and quiet in his habits. His wife and six children survive him.
