The early settlers will remember Mr. and Mrs. Noah Sage, who lived on the first east and west road, south of this village. We quote a summary of an obituary notice in a paper published at Parker, S. D.”—Hannah Bisbee was born in Vermont, May 21, 1804; married in 1830. Came to Burr Oak 1852; removed to Missouri in 1869, where Mr. Sage died in 1872, after which the widow went to Turner Co., S. D., and took a land claim, lived on it five years, making final proof, and later received a patent for said land, now being past 73 years of age. In 1883 she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. John Ervin, formerly of Burr Oak, with whom she had a home until Aug. 16, 1905, when she was not, for God took her, at the ripe age of 101 years and nearly 3 months. Mrs. Sage received every care and attention that loving hands could give in her declining years. She was the mother of three children, -Union who lives in Tennessee, Albert and Mrs. Delia Ervin, who live in Parker.
