Charles McLaughlin, an aged resident of the second ward, passed away last Monday from an attack of paralysis, after only a days illness. He was as well as usual Sunday morning, but was found lying on the floor by his wife on her return from early mass. The funeral service took place Wednesday forenoon at the church of the Assumption, and burial was in the Bluffton cemetery. Mr. McLaughlin was a kindly old gentleman, well educated, and respected by all. We are without the data for an obituary but hope to be able to publish one in our next issue.

Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave indicates he is buried in St. Bridget Cemetery and was born November 1829.
