Funeral services for Lucille Trouten will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 15 at the United Methodist Church in Harmony with Rev. David Laechel officiating. Interment will be in State Line Cemetery at Harmony.
Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony from 3:00 to 7:00 on Thursday and one hour before services on Friday at the church.
Lucille, 81, died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at New Prospective in Mahtomedi, MN.
Lucille Evelyn Trouten, only child of Helmer R. and Ella (Arneson) Johnson, was born on March 12, 1920 on a farm in Fremont Twp., Winneshiek Co., where she lived with the exception of one year until 1939. She attended Fremont District #3 and #7 Elementary Schools, and graduated from Harmony High School in 1936. She was a member of Fremont Lutheran Church until her marriage.
In 1939, she married Clair Trouten and they farmed in Fremont Township until moving to the city of Harmony in 1970,.
She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s Pioneer Seed Corn business from 1950 until 1962. She worked for the Harmony Area Schools from 1960 to 1982, most of the time as a bookkeeper and Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.
After her marriage, she joined the State Line United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher, played the piano for Sunday school and for worship services and served as organist from 1964 to 2000.
She is survived by one daughter: Myrna Trouten of Tampa, FL; one son: Bruce of Vadnais Heights, MN; one granddaughter; one step grandson; and one step granddaughter.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Clair; and her parents.
