(From our regular Ridgeway Correspondent.)
Wednesday, May 5th at five o’clock a. m. at the home of the bride’s parents, occurred the marriage of Albert Aegerter of Cresco to Ada June Griffith. Rev. Siewert of Cresco performed the marriage ceremony. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Griffith. She wore a blue georgette dress and carried a bouquet of pink and white sweet peas. After the ceremony a six o’clock dinner was served to a few immediate relatives. The home was prettily decorated in pink and white. Mr. and Mrs. Aegerter departed Thursday noon on a honeymoon trip to Minneapolis. Those from out of town who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. john Aegerter, Esther and Elsie, Mrs. Siewert of Cresco, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Feist and family of Sumner, and Allen Burtz, who is attending High school at Decorah.Source: Cresco Plain Dealer May 14, 1920, P3 C5
A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith in Ridgeway at 5 o’clock p. m., on Wednesday, May 5, 1920, when their only daughter, Miss Ada, became the bride of Albert Aegerter, Rev. J. W. Siewert, of Cresco, pastor of the Evangelical church tying the knot which brought joy and contentment to two hearts, causing them to beat as one. To the strains of the wedding march “American” beautifully rendered by Miss Esther Aegerter, of Cresco, the couple marched under a large arch beautifully festooned with colored crepe paper, where the ceremony was performed, only immediate relatives witnessing the ceremony. Congratulations and a two-course dinner followed. The bride, a young lady of sterling worth and exemplary habits, was dressed in navy blue. The groom, a highly respectable young man, wore a suit of blue serge. The couple took a trip to Minneapolis for a few days stay. They will make their home in Ridgeway, where the groom, an expert mechanic, is employed by the Ridgeway Auto Co. Hosts of friends and relatives join in wishing them a long, happy journey, showered with God’s richest blessings as they travel side by side along the highway of life.
