Negro Marriage in Decorah.
Perhaps the only marriage of negroes that ever occurred in Decorah was performed by Dr. G. S. Lackland at the Methodist parsonage Thursday, July 20, 1916. The contracting parties were John Gordon and Mrs. Verona Porter, formerly of Cresco. They will live in Decorah. Mr. Gordon used to be a barber in Cresco.—Decorah Journal.
