We have news from an old-time, Burr Oak resident.- Those who lived here in the 60’s will remember Mr. and Mrs. Noah Sage. Mr. S. has been dead a number of years, but Mrs. S. still lives. We copy from the ".St. Paul Dispatch," which evidently has a correspondent in Parker, S. D. It reads: — “Century Mark.—The 100th anniversary of the birth of Mrs. Hannah Sage, whose picture has previously been published in the St. Paul Dispatch, was celebrated in Parker to-day, May 26th. She is living with her daughter, Mrs. John Ervin, on a farm adjoining this city. The school children and citizens met at the Presbyterian church and marched to her home, where fitting exercises were held, about 400 being present in the procession. Grandma Sage was born in Vermont, May 25th, 1804. She has one sister living, aged 96 years. Three children, 15 grand children, 31 great grand children, and 3 great great grand children, making 52 descendants."

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born May 21, 1804 and died August 16, 1905 and is buried in Parker, S. D.
