Elizabeth Ann Knapp
February 18, 1943 - July 31, 2017

Elizabeth "Betty" Knapp (Wilbur), surrounded by her daughters, Hope and Lori, and son-in-law, Curt, at the Country View Care Center in Waterloo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 31, 2017.

Betty was born on February 18, 1943, in Iowa City to Martha Ellis Wilbur. In 1958, she married Glen Curtis and to their union, three children were born. For many years, Betty lived in Virginia working with children with learning disabilities. In 2007, however, she moved back to Iowa because of her declining health, living in Lake Mills and Mason City. Eventually, her ever deteriorating health forced her into a nursing home. Fortunately, she found a loving home at the Country View Care Center in Waterloo. There she was known as “Miss Betty,” the feisty little lady from Virginia. Otherwise, she loved baking, sewing, church activities, and pets of all kinds.

Betty is survived by her three children, Hope (Curt) Enerson, of York, Pennsylvania, Lori Thomas (Joe Buck), of Waterloo, and Brian (Lena) Knapp, of Cranberry, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren: Caleb Enerson, of Pennsylvania, Christopher Thomas, of Mason City, Brittni (Tuan) Pham, of Pennsylvania, Arianna Thomas, of Waterloo, and Alexa, Ava, and Adalyn Knapp, of Pennsylvania. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Martha, and her grandson, Brandon Thomas.

A private graveside service will be held in Forest City where Betty will be laid to rest beside her oldest grandchild, Brandon.

Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, Forest City, Iowa, 2017.
