Nancy Diane Thompson
April 25, 1952 - June 21, 2016

Nancy Diane Thompson, 64, of Mason City, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Nancy, a daughter of Terry and Elnora Thompson of Forest City, was born on April 25, 1952. After attending Forest City Schools, she was employed by Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Waldorf College. Later, she moved to Mason City, and had, currently, been employed at NIACC.

Nancy had many loves! An avid reader, she read many books a week and enjoyed sharing what she thought of a book. In addition, she, particularly, enjoyed the Teen Disney channel. She crocheted many afghans and potholders and shared them as gifts. She had an obvious love for animals, and they loved her as well. She, always, had a treat for them. Moreover, she enjoyed people and loved talking with them. She, especially, loved all her nieces and nephews; she remembered their birthdays and ages. She was, also, always ready for new adventures. More recently, she found pleasure in coloring, having discovered adult coloring books, which allowed her creativity to shine. Most of all, however, Nancy loved Jesus Christ, and we have peace knowing that she is now walking with Him.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Nancy is survived by her parents, Terry and Elnora Thompson; her brother, Tracy (Diane) Thompson; her sisters, Cindy (Roger) Solomonson and Marcia (Craig) Sampson; her nephews and nieces, Troy (Heidi) and Justin (Becky Spencer) Thompson, Hollie (Erik) Lampe, Christy (Mike) Price, and Jason (Jessica) and Heather Deugan; as well as by eighteen great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home in Forest City on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Madison Township Cemetery.
