This is a news report and not the obituary but with some clues.

Killed by Lightning

FORT DODGE-- Oct. 4.-Charles H. Wilson, a traveling man representing the Karl Clagg hide house of this city, and formerly manager for B. M. Hoosick & Co. at Sioux City, was struck and instantly killed by lightning during a brief thunder storm Wednesday. Wilson was at the rendering works, of his company and when struck was talking with two other men, neither of whom were injured or felt any shock. Nothing but a vivid flash of lightning was seen and Wilson fell dead in his tracks. He was a married man, about 38 years old, and well known throughout northern
Iowa.
