John W. Jordison, 63 of Fort Dodge, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999 at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Doge. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

John Walter Jordison was born Sept. 4, 1935 in Fort Dodge. He grew up in the Coalville and Fort Doge areas. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1953 and married Iva Moad of Lake City on Dec. 28, 1953 [obituary says 1935 but I'm assuming it should be 1953]. The couple spent a short time in California, before making their home in Fort Dodge. He worked 31 years as a route man delivering Wonder Bread and Hostess products. He was affectionately referred to as Johnny Wonder by many of his customers in Fort Dodge and surrounding communities. After his retirement and until the time of his illness, he worked for his son-in-law in Webster City at Kauffman Machine.

He is survived by his wife, Iva; parents, Walter and Helen Jordison; three sons, Larry of Cherokee, Tim of Brookfield, Mo., John of Vincent, a daughter Leslie Kauffman of Webster City, a stepson, Randy Moad of Allison, nine grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Ropte of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Jordison, a brother William Jordison, a sister Dee Soop, and a granddaughter, Naomi Jordison.
