Kathryn R. McBride, 79, Duncombe, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 30 at 9:15 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Duncombe with Rev. Brad Pelzel officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Duncombe. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m.

Surviving is her husband, Richard, sons, Jim and wife Abby of Sarasota, Fla., Dan and his wife Amy of Franklin, Ky., Bill and wife Michelle of Lehigh, Bob and wife Kristy of Franklin, Ky.; daughters, Colleen Mallinger and her husband Mark of Duncombe, Mary Beth Farley and husband Roger of Franklin, Ky., 21 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Kathryn (Kelly) Fetrow, brothers, Kenneth, Jack, Tom and sisters, Ina and Maudie.

Kathryn R. McBride was born Nov. 7, 1924 in Duncombe and graduated from Duncombe High School. Following her education, she became employed for the Toy Factory in Duncombe. On Nov. 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Richard McBride at St. Joseph's Church in Duncombe and they established their home there. After her marriage, she became a homemaker raising their children.

Kathryn was a member of the St. Joseph's Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
