Death Takes Mrs. Hay, 87

Mrs. Letitia Hay, 87, rural route 1, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Square Manor at Ottumwa where she had been a patient.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Miller officiating.

The casket will be taken Wednesday to Bruce's Funeral Home in Fort Dodge where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Paul Beaver will officiate and burial will be in Otho Cemetery at Otho.

Letitia Hay was born March 5, 1887, in Boone County. She was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Doran Russell. She was reared and educated in the Lehigh Community.

Her marriage to Archie Hay took place Oct. 24, 1906, at Lehigh. Her husband died March 6, 1965. A member of the Nazarene Church, Mrs. Hay had been a resident of Fairfield for 23 years.

She is survived by one son, R. Glenn Hay, Fairfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Potter, Winona, Okla.

Mrs. Hay was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Pavey, who died April 29, and two brothers.
