ANDREW LAKE DIES AT FORT DODGE

Andrew Barnard Lake was born in Georgia Center, Vermont, Oct. 28, 1824 and died at Fort Dodge, Iowa, Oct. 12, 1908, aged 83 years, 11 months and 19 days. He was married to Hannah A. French in Scranton, Vermont, April 28, 1844. To this union were born six children, Edson and Russel of Alword, Iowa and Mrs. W. L. Ballard of Fort Dodge, survive. Mr. Lake made his home with his daughter since the death of his wife four years ago.

The family moved from Vermont in 1854 and settled in eastern Jackson county. In 1868 they moved to Monmouth where they made their home until until four years ago. In his early youth he became a member of the Baptist church and was a faithful church worker until age rendered him too feeble to take an active part. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Davis at the Methodist church Thursday, Oct. 15 at 10:00 a.m. and the body was laid to rest in the Monmouth cemetery beside his wife.
