Linda Kay Peek, age 71, of Clio, Iowa, the daughter of Phillip Francis and Pearl Emma (Barber) Dudley, was born March 24, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa. She died at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.

Linda grew up and attended school in Des Moines. She met James Albert Peek; they were married while he was serving in the United States Army in Washington State on December 30, 1961. They were blessed with two daughters, Ronda and Connie, while living there. After his discharge, the family moved back and lived in several towns in Iowa. They were blessed with three more children, James Dean, Tim, and Patricia. In 1973, they moved to Lineville, Iowa and in 1976, to Clio, Iowa, where she still resided.

In addition to being a wife, mother, and homemaker for her family, Linda worked as a cook at the Wayne County Hospital for 10-15 years, then six or seven years as a CNA at the Corydon Care Center, before going back to cooking at the Wayne County Hospital for several more years.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed working puzzles and sewing quilt blocks together. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Leon.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jim Peek, on April 2, 2016; daughter, Connie Stark; infant grandson, Luke Stark; and brother, Harold Dudley.

Survivors include her children, Ronda Stark of Humansville, Missouri, Jim Peek and Jay of Florida, Tim Peek of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Patricia and Jess Stark of Mercer, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Holly, Krystle, Jennifer, Susan, Eddy, Jason, Derek, Joseph, and Ashley; 13 great grandchildren, Damien, Chloe, Korbyn, Hunter, Kenley, Emiley, Hilary, AddaLee, Kale, Wesley, Brett, Max, and Evelyn; brother, Larry Dudley of Corydon, Iowa; sister, Phyllis Williams of Indianola, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Burial will be in the Clio Cemetery, Clio, Iowa.
