Corydon, Iowa
April 10, 1913

Frank P. McVay was born near Corydon, Iowa, October 5, 1876, and departed this life at his home southwest of Seymour, March 25, 1913, being 36 years, 5 months and 20 days old. He was married to Bertha O'Neal, February 2, 1902. To this union was born one son, Floyd, who is now 10 years of age, who with one faithful wife; father, mother, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. McVay; one brother, John W. McVay; and two sisters, Mrs. W.S. Davis and Mrs. P.L. Davis, survive him. Frank united with the Church of Christ at Antioch, April 18, 1909, and as long as his health permitted was a constant attendant at all services. He had suffered for about 6 years with cancer. He made a heroic fight for his life that he might provide a home for his family and spare them the sorrow and loneliness that the absence has caused, but his hopes were blighted and he was willing to abide by the Divine Master's decision, and we feel assured that his unwavering faith in God, and his patient cheerfulness thorough the agonizing hours of his suffering has won for him the reward that is promised to all the faithful in Christ Jesus. He said so often the last week of his life, "I am wore out. I want rest." The funeral was held at the home Thursday morning, March 27, conducted by Elder Glidewell of Mendota, Mo. and the mortal body was taken to Corydon for burial there to await the resurrection morning.
