Hollander rites set

Maud C. Hollander, 92, resident of the Nelson Nursing Home, died Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health for a number of years.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Lenwood Monte officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Raymond funeral home Thursday from 7-8 p.m.

Maud C. Hollander was born March 28, 1886 in the Salina community, the daughter of Charles and Emma Johnson Larson. She was married to Alvin A. Hollander in March 1909. Her husband preceded her in death July 3, 1948.

Mrs. Hollander was reared and educated in the Salina community and was an active member of the First Lutheran Church. She had been a resident of Fairfield since 1948 and a resident at the nursing home for the past 2 1/2 years.

Survivors include four daughters, Lucile Emmack, Fairfield; Marie Swenson, Cedar Rapids; Dorothy Quackenbush, Glendale, Calif.; Margaret Diers, Brighton; also two sons, Glenn, West Des Moines, and Clair, Faifield.

Also 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Larson, Washington; Elmer Larson, Fairfield; Clifford Larson, Winter Have, Fla.; and two sisters, Evan Overholser, Fairfield, and Pearl Gardner, Fairfield.

Mrs. Hollander was preceded in death by one brother, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and great-grandson.
