Hunter Killed Near Indianola – Widow, Two Children Survive [December 1933]
Indianola, IA – Rex White, son of Mrs. Bonnie Conard of Indianola, was accidentally shot and killed nine miles south of here Saturday while hunting with three companions. In addition to his mother, his widow and two small children survive. Pronouncing White’s death accidental, Coroner C. H. Mitchell said no inquest will be held. White, who had been hunting for a bee tree with Joe Stewart and Tom Browne of Indianola, was crossing a pipeline suspension bridge. His foot slipped and the shotgun he was carrying fell, the hammer striking a step on the bridge. The shot entered his neck, severing an artery, and he bled to death.
