DEATHS
SLINKER – Died in Warren County, Iowa, April 15, 1883, Edwin G. Slinker. He was born September 25, 1864; was converted and joined the M. E. church, two years ago, at Wesley Chapel, Indianola circuit. His funeral was attended by the writer with a large concourse of friends and relatives. Thus passed away in the days of early manhood a loved friend, son, and brother. His friends have the comfort of the memory of his devotion to duty, patience in suffering, and victory over death through faith in Christ. Called thus early from labor to reward, he has gone from the church militant to the church triumphant. There is sorrowing in the bereaved home, but he is with the Redeemer. “I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” M. H. H.
