Helen Dybsjord passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 15th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Helen was born in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Leonard and Francesca Scalise. She was a successful businesswoman until her massive stroke in 1993. Helen was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, R. John Berard; daughter, Jude (Paul) Gillispie; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Hickman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell R. Berard and second husband, Richard Dybsjord.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Wed 12 Sept 2012.
