OBITUARY.

Mary E. Palmer was born in Polk Co., Iowa in the year 1873 and departed this life at her home near St. Marys, Warren Co., Iowa, April 28, 1907, aged 34 years, 1 month and 22 days. She was united in marriage to Simon Weakland in August 1892, who was instantly killed by lightening May 20, 1897. To them were born three children; the eldest a boy, died in infancy; one girl, Ethel, aged 12 years and one boy, Elmer, aged 10, are living.

She was again united in marriage to John Rhoads in 1902, who with two little girls, the oldest 3 1/2 years and the other but a few days, with Ethel and Elmer are left to battle in the world without a wife and mother. She was converted at Bethel Chapel in the winter of 1893 and joined the Christian Union church at that place of which she was a member at her death. Besides the family she leaves one sister, Mrs. George Miler, and two brothers, Will and Ad Palmer, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. The funeral was held at Bethel Chapel Tuesday, April the 25th conducted by Rev. Pond after which the remains were laid in the cemetery at that place.
