Death of Orma Owen
Miss Orma Owen died at the home of her parents, Drs. J. E. and D. D. Owen Saturday morning after a lingering illness of several months from inflammation rheumatism. Orma Frances Owen was born in Kirksville, Mo., July 13, 1889, and had spent the greater part of her life here in Indianola. She united with the Baptist Church in 1893 and graduated from the Indianola High School in 1907. She had attended Simpson conservatory of music and last fall when taken ill was preparing for her junior recital, having already received a certificate from the conservatory on public school methods. Orma Owen was of a quiet, retiring disposition and will be most missed in the home where her cheerful disposition had made her a favorite. Funeral services conducted by her pastor, Rev. Lisley, assisted by Rev. Peck of Kansas City, were held in the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock.
