Obituary – Margaret A. Renfro
Margaret A. Renfro was born in the state of Illinois, September 5, 1844. With her parents she came to Iowa in 1846. Their first home in this state was at Racoon Forks. Later they moved to Oskaloosa and after that spent a short time in Missouri. August 1, 1860 they came to Indianola, Iowa. This latter place Miss Renfro counted her home the remainder of her life, though several years were spent in the west, chiefly in Denver. In 1877 she united with the Baptist Church of Indianola during the pastorate of Rev Mr. Cain. About a year ago she suffered a severe fracture from a fall. This induced the ailment with which she ultimately passed away. The last several months brought her seasons of excruciating pain. While she could not understand the ministry of suffering, she gave repeated evidence of the confidence of her faith and at times of longing to depart and be at rest. On Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Feb 21, the longed for relief came. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Silas Coryell and a brother, William Renfro, both of Indianola, two brothers, Silas and Erastus of Fresno, California, and her brother, Scott of Denver.
